H2H techniques

Hi all, I know I am a bit late, but..... I had to wait until I could make sure that the people receiving my cards had them before I posted them :).  Can't ruin the surprise can I?
So my favourite technique, that I keep using over and over again is the Rock and Roll, I just love how the two colours merge and blend and highlight each other.  Enough said, here is one of the two cards I made last week using this technique.

I used the beautiful Close to my Heart set 'Find your style' and two ink colours sweet leaf and petal, both Close to my Heart.  The background of the card is second generation stamping of the saying that comes with the set.  Love this stamp set.

Project 12 April 2011

I am continuing to attempt to meet the challenge of scrapping each month for Project 12 being hosted by Scrapbook and Card today magazine.  This is my April page:

All the supplies used are from Close to my Heart, I used the wings paper pack, and the Notice the details stamp.  My Cuttlebug came in useful to make the butterflies and diecut my title and date.

OLW 53 Home sweet Home

OLW, is a one layer card challenge that is posted on the Styles Ink or the Simplicity blog each Wednesday to create a one layer card.  You can link up your creations to which ever one is running it that week and see some great inspiration.  Sometimes simpler is much nicer.
How sweet was this, I have been asked to make some cards for the staff at work who have new or newer homes and this is the challenge this week.  What an inspiration to get the cards done!  I used Close to my Hearts stamp set Around the block that I borrowed from a friend and lots of different ink colours, way more than just two :)  I also used the Trees and things stamp set to have some fun with the tree and the grass.  At first I as not too sure about this stamp set, but after playing with it for a bit, I had fun building my houses and personallizing them.  Great set to play with.

OLW 52

I was lucky enough to have a good friend share her copy of  Card Creations Volume 9 from Papercrafts Magazine, we browsed through it over lunch after swimming last Friday.  I spotted this card in it and remembered this challenge to use circles and then also remembered this old stamp set from Gel a Tin "Sewing kit".  Fun trying to find the stamp set and then playing with the different colours of ink on the kraft paper.  Thank you for the challenge.

H2H buttons :)

What a great surprise this morning when I checked the challenge for this week it is for BUTTONS !!!  I just finished my layout using the Sopia Workshop to go and the layout from one of the books.  I have been wanting to do this layout since I spotted it in the current catalogue and this was my chance.  After "borrowing" my baby pictures and a number of others for a few years from my Mom to scan (I returned them all to her yesterday), I used one of them for this layout and a few more for the co-ordinating page.  I learned a new trick from my consultant as well in making this layout to use a brayer to get the reverse image to make the heart with the swirl from the stamp kit.  I love it and will try to remember to do this again.

Mothers Day card

Here is the card that I have made for my Mom for Mothers day.
I have copied a card from the scrapbook and cards today blog, this week that was designed by Becky Fleck. This is my version:

Recipe: All Close to my Heart products - card stock, butterflies cut with Martha Stewart Classic butterfly punch out of Emporium paper, pink butterfly from Cherry 'O' paper, floral background - stamped on white cardstock using "Smiles" stamps and sunny yellow, sunset, crystal blue, sweet leaf and blush inks.
