H2H Oh Baby

Another challenge, for the H2H blog....this week our theme is BABIES.   Hmmmm what to do.... I know, I will finish the layout we started a few weeks ago at scrapclub!  So, here is the layout remembering the birth of my grand(great)-nephews, born to my niece in Calgary, ten weeks early!  What a miracle, little Harley is holding on to his Mom's finger, while she cradles his head.  The pictures are all from Facebook, another great thing.  So here is my layout:

H2H colour challenge for March

Well, finally getting all the challenges at H2H caught up for this month.  This is the first challenge and the last one that I finished, took the most thinking time for me and had to get the colours from my consultant.

It's a color challenge and here are the colors:

This is the card that I made, started with a tour through my Wishes book and stopped at the circles collection, don't know something about circles :)  Here is my card:

I used the Something splendid stamp set with pansy purple, petal, sorbet and black inks and the butterflies are from the Butterfly kiss stamp set, the larger butterfly, I cut out and blinged with stickles:)  The background of gypsy is embossed with the textile embossing folder from cuttlebug, sanded and then I inked it in black.

H2H Times 3

Another challenge: This week, we're going to really challenge you but I think you will enjoy it! Our challenge this week is called Times 3. We want you to use three different stamps to create a scene on a card. These do not have to be from different stamp sets (although that would be cool!) but there must be three separate images used that together create a scene. Make sense? Take a look at what the DT came up with and I'm sure you'll have your thinking caps on in no time!

So here is my results from playing with this challenge:

This card will fit a #10 envelope so it is a odd size, but I had this idea before the challenge when I received my Trees & Things stamp set.  Fun playing with the stamps and making the different seasons on the trees.  I am planning to use the winter tree with the cardinal for future sympathy cards, it reminds me of when our grand-daughter died and we had a cardinal come to our feeder for the first time shortly after.  God telling us He was still here.  I always enjoy four season scenes and this is a fun way to make one.  Inks used, if I can remember them all :), chocolate, cocoa, black, sweet leaf, new england ivy, grey wool, sunset, sunny yellow, and tulip.

H2H From our heart to yours

I am a bit behind in the challenges this month, so to start with the most recent:

The theme this week is Home Decor. We want to see something that you have created for your home. This can be something you display all the time or it can be something seasonal. Maybe something you've had around for awhile and are proud of or something new you create this week. Whatever it is, it must feature Close To My Heart products in some way (new or old). And we would love to hear what is special about your project - why it was made, who it was made for, what it means to you.

This is a quote for living that I spotted as an art print at a friends house during a Close to my heart event and I copied the quote.  Then made my own wall hanging by printing out the quote with the computer, matted it on chocolate card stock and dressed up the top using the Treasure Life stamp set with blush, cranberry, purple pansy inks, also used the butterfly from a hostess reward last spring.  This sits on my office wall as a reminder of how to live life, now if only I took the time to read and follow it more often :)

Where has the time gone?!?

Hard to believe that half the month is over and that March break is also almost finished again for another year.  My creativity has been in a slump, a bit.  Been busy knitting for the Soper Creek yarn shop yarn challenge and have finally finished my project.  We were given four colours of Cascade 220 wool and could only use those colours and that yarn, we could add more of the same yarn, which I did add 1 ball of the dark purple.  It was too big when I finished putting it all together, so I attempted to felt it, still not shrunk enough, so I boiled it, then dried it flat and finished it in the dryer, but the colours bled, so .... the white is now not so white, but not bad you can see the different shades and the stitches so that is what matters.  Now to get it into the shop before next Tues. for the voting :)  Here is a pic....

Clear cards

Saturday I enjoyed a creative workshop with my Close to my heart consultant, where we made  different clear cards.  This was an interesting concept to me, but the cards are gorgeous.  We learned three different flower making techniques as well, a very productive afternoon.

sorry this one is a bit blurry. ;(

This one is my favourite.
