Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #8 and Colour my Heart challenge.

Another card to share, this time two challenges in one card.  The sketch is from the atlantic hearts challenge sketch-8 and I used color my heart color dare where we are challenged to use Close to my Heart colours smoothie and topiary.  Now topiary is not a colour I go to quickly, even though it is a lovely shade of green, smoothie is a more used colour for me.  To pair the two up was inspiring and a challenge.   Here is the sketch we were challenged to use:

And this is my creation using this sketch and the above mentioned colours....
I could not think of any patterned paper that I had in topiary, so I decided to create my own pattern/background paper.  Using a 4 1/8 X 5 3/8 " piece of cardstock I ran it through my cuttlebug with the textile folder, then I sanded the raised areas and then wiped the smoothie ink pad over the top.  Voila my own background paper.  The two decorative circles were cut with our Cricut Artiste cartridge, cutting the smoothie pieces 1/4 inch larger than the white to give me my layers.  The stamps used are from the D1530 stamp set that is one of three that come exclusively with the cricut cartridge.  I used second generation inking on the banner to give it a softer look and the Celebrate Love is from the B1418 Love Doily set.  All items are available to order through my web site linked on the right hand side of this blog.  Enjoy!

Colour dares....

I have made the same card using three different colour combinations:

For the colormyheartcolordare we were challenged to just use the colour honey with basic colours, this is my card:

I used the June stamp of the month available in the shop with me link for the month of June only.

For the colorthrowdown we are challenged to use the following colours:

These colours are listed as SU colours I believe, so I gave my interpretation using Close to my Heart colours, pear, white, blush, gypsy and olive :

And last but definitely not least the colourq challenge was to use these colours:
Which I translated to Close to my Heart colours of Pacifica, Lagoon, Sweet Leaf and Ruby and created this:
All three cards were made with the same stamp set, as mentioned above, then coloured in using my water brush and the ink colours.  I stamped the image using pigment ink that I heat set and then coloured in.

I am not sure which one is my favourite, but think they all look great!  Enjoy..

Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge #7

Hi again, I know two posts in one week !! :)
This weeks sketch on the Atlantic Hearts challenge number 7 is a quick fun one!  This is the sketch we are challenged to us in whatever format we would like, I chose to make a card....
We have a number of friends who are celebrating June weddings, some are 39 years and others are just a bit shorter, so I thought I would get one of the cards done using this sketch.

I cut out multiple flowers from the one pattern paper in this awesome 'Claire' paper pack from Close to my Heart, then applied liquid glass over the cut flower, when dry I layered them with foam dots to give some depth.  The background paper is also from this pack as well as the two banner papers.  The sunset brads are from a mini medley pack and the Congratulations is from a old but still available 'For all occasions' stamp set.  All available to order through me on my web site, see the shop with me on the right hand side.

Heart 2 heart May Flowers

This weeks challenge is to show our May flowers, I just happened to finish a few cards last weekend with flowers, who knew?  This card also fills a colour challenge on facebook Close to my Heart Sherri Ballentyne.
I was inspired by this card on Pinterest by http://jillsink.typepad.com
I created this using the colours: Blush, Ruby, Sorbet

I used blush cardstock and white, the inks used are Ruby, Sorbet and Blush.  Stamp sets used: Pemberly work shop to go (retired) and

challenges, challenges for early June

Hi all, a new card for a few challenges this week, waiting for my order to arrive so I can play with the new Thank you, patriotic stamps and the June stamp of the month.  These should be so much fun.  Back to this weeks challenges, I am not sure if I am in time for all of them but these are the challenges that I am posting this card to: atlanticheartschallenge where we are asked to use this sketch
As well as the heart2heartchallenges, to get tropical and last but not least colormyheartcolordare where we are asked to use yellow, orange and pink (I had actually planned this for the Dream Pop week, but it will work here too)

I was babysitting at my daughters and had thought about the sketch and then needed some colour guidance so off to another blog for inspiration and the above is the creation.
I used the cardstock from the CTMH Dream Pop paper pack (not available) and stamped the roses from the Love Blooms C1511 stamp set in colours that matched the paper, hand cut them all and layered on the card.  The centers of each card have liquid glass to give some sparkle and shine.  The Happy Birthday is from the CTMH Joyful Birthdays B1419 and the sparkle swirl is from the Sparkles Flourishes Z1812.  Until next time, take care.
