This month we are using the colour of the year from Close to my Heart....SEA GLASS. Such a pretty shade of blue/green. My mother had to move to a care facility @six weeks ago and the changes in her life/health have been dramatic. I think we just saw her on a off day last weekend but ... I had taken a photo of her on the beach just a few weeks before she moved and the photo of her hands is from last Sunday. I needed to get these scrapped so I could display them on my wall as a reminder of the better days. I decided to make a tonal layout from a sketch inspiration from Rochelle Spears on my Pinterest board, Scrapbook sketches. She has lots of scrapbook sketches on her blog, you should check it out....   I thought rather than try to find other papers, which I am sure I have somewhere I would create my papers so they would all work. I am also in the midst of moving my crafting space around, hubby had a window put in for me on the south side so I now have natural light to work with.  This is the layout I created:

I used a lot of different tools for the layout. Various alphabet stamps, I embossed some of the strips of paper using our folders, it is so nice that they can handle the longer strips with the slot in the top to pull them through, and then inked them with the sea glass ink. MOM is heat embossed in gold. I really enjoyed working on this project.
In the time in between I also blinged up my SEA GLASS planner for next year, using some stickers I have had for way too many years.
Your next stop on the Cross Canada Hop is Michelle Hugh of the right hugh .
