It's an anniversary challenge

It is the 1st anniversary for the Atlantic hearts challenge and the sketch challenge for this week is to use this sketch:

I am also using the colour challenge from the color my heart color dare, I enjoy the challenge of combining these two challenges.  The colours we are challenged to use this week are the colours from one of my favourite paper packs from CTMH this idea book, the Ariana paper pack.
Or Outdoor denim, Crystal blue, Ariana Coral, Ariana green and Ariana grey.  This is what I created:
I sometimes like to create congratulations cards for brand new grandparents, to help celebrate this amazing change in their lives, so this is for a couple in our church family that became grandparents for the very first time, to a little boy.
I enjoy making the paper flowers, this one is a number of circles cut from the paper pack that were left over from another project.  I wet the circles, crumpled them in to little  then very carefully open them up again.  This helps to give the texture, I then popped a brad through the center of the layered flowers, then reshaped and let dry.  I added a button for the center, here is a close-up of the flower:
I also shaped the congratulations from one of the stamps sets to fit the swirl.  So nice to be able to adjust the clear stamps to fit your project or idea.
Both stamp sets used are retired, but still very well loved and used.  I hope this inspires you to get crafty or inky.  Have fun playing.  If you are interested in any of the supplies used, please contact me with questions or place an order to get your own supplies on the right hand side of my page in the shop with me button.

Color my Heart Color Dare #90

I am getting in just under the wire, I hope.  This week on the color my heart color dare we are challenged to use these colours:

This is what I created, it has been percolating in my head for a bit now and I finally sat down and made it:
This first one with out the pop up circle, so it could be an anything card for a guy, the second is with the World's Greatest Dad.  Not sure which one I like better.  What do you think?  Which one do you like better?  This will be one of the cards that we will create at my upcoming card workshop on Saturday May 24th.  Come play with me.....

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #50!!!

The atlantic hearts challenge blog is already up to sketch 50!!!  Hard to believe that it has been 50 challenges already.  This past week we have been asked to use this sketch:

This is what I came up with:
I used the Timberline paper pack as well as some of our wood grain washi tape, what a quick way to add a border.  The Happy Birthday is from a very old set or our stamps, I used the swish technique on the solid stamp to give it a different look, I like it, even did it on the Birthday.  Lots of fun to have a different look with the stamp every time.  I sponged all the edges in either chocolate or juniper ink as well as some chocolate brads to dress it up a bit.

Color my heart color dare #88

Wow, hard to believe that it has been 88 color dares already.  When I saw this weeks colours, I thought what bright cheerful spring colours.  Then I put on my dreaming cap and thought they would be perfect for a April calendar on my display stand, some nice bright cheerful colours for a usually grey month.

I used buttercup cardstock with a sunset overlay, cut with the Cricut artbooking cartridge.  Stamping was done with the Trinity alphabet, I used the smoothie for the regular days and lagoon for Good Friday and Sundays.
