Atlantic Hearts and Color your heart combined into one! And it is not a Christmas card!!

Hi again, I am combining my two favourite challenge blogs again.  On the atlanticheartschallenge we are asked to use this sketch:

And on the Color my heart challenge we are challenged to use:
Olive, Autumn Terracotta and Barn Red.  This is what I created:
I used only the above mentioned colours, the cute hippo is second generation ink.  The images were cut out using our cartridges and the Cricut Craftroom, so I can combine images on one sheet and cut once.  Stamp sets used: C1558 Wild Wonders; D1546 Frame flair; D1187 For every occasion. It was fun to create a baby card for a co-worker to take a break from creating all the Christmas cards.  There is still time for you to play along too, so join us in either of the challenges and spend some time creating.

Atlantic Hearts Challenge # 30

Wow, hard to believe that this challenge has been going on for THIRTY weeks already!!! Awesome, I have enjoyed playing along for as many of those weeks as I could.  This thirtieth challenge is to use the following sketch:
Now I normally create a card with these sketches, but I changed it up this week and finished a scrap page with one of our family photos from Thanksgiving.  I am trying to get a few of them scrapped to change up a photo wall display.  My page does not follow the sketch as completely as usual, but I had fun doing it up.
This will join two other pages that I worked on last week Friday night at a unit team meeting for CTMH consultants.  (Those two are already framed and do not take great photos)
I used: whisper, cocoa, buttercup, and sunset cardstock, babycakes patterned paper, antique copper brads, and the sun is stamped in honey.  Enjoy.
You never know I may still use the sketch for a card, since we can play along until Sunday midnight, so why not join us :).

Christmas card workshop - variations :)

Today, I hosted a Christmas card workshop for four of my friends.  We had a blast!  I designed and created some samples then got the supplies ready and let them create.  We had so much fun and many variations that I had to share them here, just for fun!

My samples of Northern lights technique, and what my guests created:

My Washi tape card:

My guests creations:

My sample of our spin card, showing both sides of the spinner:

And my guests creations, showing both sides of the spinner (I had a few issues with cutting out the square):

We made one more card, but not to many variations, so I will save it for a later date.

Gratitude & Colours

Another challenge card, I do so enjoy being challenged by various challenges on the internet for my creativity.  This week on the Atlantic hearts challenge we are to use this sketch:
On the Color throw down we are challenged to use these colours:
Which I converted to Close to my heart colours olive, desert sand, blush and ruby.  Finally on the Heart 2 heart challenges the challenge this week is to show or use gratitude.  So, since I am in the process of making a number of thank you cards for my church council, I thought I would use these challenges for one of my cards.
This is my creation:
I made my own background paper with the rope stamp from the retired Pemberly work shop, the swirls are from the retired Enjoy Life stamp set C1439 and the Thanks is from our A1125.  There is some bitty sparkles in clear, red and pink added to the swirls that don't show up on the photo too well.  This was a fun sketch to work with and then to think of how to use the colours, it was fun.  I hope you get to take some time this week to "play".

Atlantic hearts sketch 27 & Color my heart 67

Hi all, the sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts is accepting entries until Sunday evening, so join them and play along.  We are using sketch 27 at Atlantic Hearts Challenge, go over and check it out, join us if you have time to play.  This is the sketch we are using.....

On the color my heart color dare #67 the challenge is to use black, white and green.... I tried two different versions, playing with my inks....

I used one of my new embossing folders from Darice called Cherry Blossom, CTMH cardstock, the Thank you is from a retired sentiment stamp from Close to my Heart and bling from different sets.  I used thin strips of paper to make my ribbon bows, as I did not have ribbon close at hand. On both cards I embossed the black cardstock, sanded it and then wiped pear ink on top to give it the black and green.  The second card I did the same technique using the black ink on the green cardstock.  I hope you join either one of these challenges and take some time to play.
